Summary
An exciting Apprentice opportunity has arisen to work with our Repairs Policy and Improvement Team as Repairs and Maintenance Support Officer. We are looking for candidates who have some experience of surveying domestic properties and diagnosing repair work to work as part of Sheffield City Council's Housing and Neighbourhood Service.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- To undertake surveys to identify maintenance defects and order remedial works
- To effectively liaise between those involved in delivering all aspects of the investment service deliver best value and excellent customer service
- To undertake a full range of clerical and support duties for the repairs and void service

- Communication: Demonstrate appropriate communication skills to enable timely identification and/or resolution of issues for customers and appropriate signposting to other colleagues and/or partner agencies.

- Respond to vulnerability: Use skill and judgment to understand the needs of vulnerable individuals and groups(including those with complex needs) and respond appropriately
- Information collection and sharing: Use a variety of methods to identify, collect and communicate technical and other information in a confident and effective manner.
- Influencing and negotiating skills: Influence and negotiate with customers, partners and suppliers.
- Self Management: Organise and plan their own work to ensure tasks are completed and deadlines met.

- Tools and Equipment: Effective use of IT equipment and software, through administration and the appropriate use of work equipment

Your training plan
Housing and Property Management Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:
- You will be attending college once a week
- College is located at CDC training, cricket inn road, manor lane, S2 1TR
- You will be working towards a level 3 housing and property management

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
Maths & English (grade 4/C equivalent or above)Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.
