What you'll do at work

The Engineering and Manufacturing Support Technician Apprentice at Innovus Engineering will assist in assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment in our manufacturing environment. Under the guidance of experienced technicians, the apprentice will learn to troubleshoot issues, perform routine inspections and quality control and assist with optimising production processes. The role involves supporting engineers, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with safety standards while gaining hands-on experience in engineering and manufacturing support tasks. Key Responsibilities -Assist with the assembly, installation, maintenance, and servicing of manufacturing equipment and machinery. -Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing and documentation prior to machine shipment. -Assist with the installation and commissioning of machinery in the final phase of the project. -Perform routine quality control checks, goods inwards inspections on components and equipment to ensure conformity and optimal operation. -Support troubleshooting efforts by diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and technical issues. -Assist with repairs and adjustments to production equipment as required, ensuring minimal downtime. -Help with calibrating machines and equipment to maintain production quality standards. -Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance. -Assist in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. -Support engineers and technicians in implementing process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs. -Work closely with the production team to address any technical issues or equipment failures that may affect production. -Work closely with the Engineering design dept to assist with BOM and drawing pack accuracy and maintenance. -Participate in training and development activities to gain hands-on experience and acquire relevant technical skills. -Help with managing inventory for spare parts and tools, ensuring necessary materials are available when needed. -Collaborate with other team members and departments to achieve common goals and improve manufacturing processes.

Other requirements

This is a 48-month apprenticeship and applicants MUST BE free from full time education to be eligible to apply for it and have the minimum qualification level to apply for it Applicants MUST BE resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years prior to the start of learning and have work authorisation for the UK. Applicants WILL NOT BE eligible to apply if they have already achieved a qualification which is equal to or higher thank the apprenticeship standard on offer. Applicants MUST BE resident in the area local to the apprenticeship opportunity or be prepared to relocate in time to start employment and study. Applicants MUST BE committed to the learning and stay to the end of the apprenticeship. The start date for this role will be September 2025 with the apprenticeship learning from October 2025. The job is based on site in Steyning with college at Northbrook in Worthing so the successful applicant will need to be able to travel between the two. Public transport is infrequent to Steyning. If the successful applicant cannot drive a possible work around could be discussed although it would be hoped that they would have their own transport by year 2.
