Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Attend all required college training days as the apprenticeship requires
- Demonstrating good interpersonal skills and cultural awareness when dealing with colleagues, customers and clients during tasks
- Understand internal processes and apply them in working practices
- Observe and shadow in order to learn tasks, developing the ability to work independently and to take responsibility
- Demonstrate a willingness to follow instructions and learn new tasks, taking personal responsibility for your own development.
- Be compliant with uniform, dress code or PPE requirements for your role
- Assist with diligent problem-solving to achieve excellent customer experience results
- Work in conjunction with the team to deliver a reliable service

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Health and Safety: Apply health and safety issues to all activities.
- Sustainability: Demonstrate application of the principles of sustainability.
- Construction Technology: Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects
- Contracts: Be able to apply different types of contracts to different situations.
- Procurement: Assist in the selection of and negotiation with specialist contractors for a construction project.
- Cost control: Assist in the measurement and costing of construction works during a project.
- Financial reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, cash flow and cost forecasts for a construction project.
- Administration: Assist in the collection, collation and storage of relevant data and its analysis.
Your training plan
You will complete a Level 4 Construction Quantity Surveying apprenticeship through Skills4Stem at the workplace. You will complete a total of one day per week completing apprenticeship work.
