Summary
We are looking for a creative and inclusive Apprentice Teaching Assistant who strives for excellence. We are committed to developing our staff to ensure, that like our pupils, we never stop learning. You'll be employed as an apprentice TA, while learning on the job. You'll be working towards a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
This is an active role, supporting the class teacher to help pupils learn. You will ensure pupils understand the work set, know their learning objectives and stay on task. Teaching Assistants are good role models, act with honesty and integrity, take part in team meetings and contribute to planning and class activities. Promoting Fundamental British Values and positive behaviours are crucial in contributing to improved pupil progress and development.

- Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
- Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
- Provide feedback to learners.

Your training plan
Successful candidates will be working towards a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification. Learning will take place on-the-job, alongside a school-based mentor. You will also attend regular off-the-job training days at our training studio located at Stebon Primary School. On these days you will our professional tutors and expert facilitators towards achieving the level 3 qualification. Candidates without GCSEs in English and maths at C/4+ will undertake a Functional Skills Level 2 qualification.

After this apprenticeship
Once you have obtained a Level 3 qualification, you will be qualified to work as a teaching assistant in both primary and secondary settings. Some candidates might choose to undertake further study such as an Outstanding Teaching Assistant Qualification or a teaching degree.
