Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
We want people to walk in & immediately feel like they made the right life choice.
Our menus have a bit of everything, proper breakfasts & brunches, tasty cakes, and seriously great coffee.

You will need to think of yourself as a people pleaser and the best experience maker, you must make our customers feel happier when they leave than when they arrived.
The role will entail:
- Greeting customers with a smile & making them feel at home
- Taking orders, serving food and drinks with care and attention
- Ensuring the front of house area is clean, tidy, and well presented
- Providing excellent customer service and handling queries with professionalism
- Working closely with the kitchen and bar team to keep everything running smoothly
This is a customer facing role dealing with both young and older customers and all the challenges that come with it.
The personal qualities we are looking for in a candidate would be that they are people pleasers, someone who makes others feel welcome, even if you or the customer is having a bad day.
Friendly, enthusiastic personality with a genuine love for hospitality,
Strong communication skills and a team player mindset.
Quick feet, quicker thinking & a calm head in the middle of a rush.

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
- Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
- Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate patience and calmness.
- Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
- Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
- Maintain informative communication during service recovery.
Your training plan
Customer Service Practitioner Level 2.
The apprentice will attend an online lesson one day per month.
In addition, the apprentice will be allocated with an assessor who will visit them within the workplace once every 6-8 weeks.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade D/3)
- Maths (grade D/3)

Other requirements
We don’t allow smoking / vaping on shift. Mobile phones must be kept in the cloakroom while on shift. This is a demanding, fast-paced environment where you're on your feet all day requires a combination of physical and mental resilience.
