Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As an Apprentice Bench Engineer/Technician, you’ll be trained to diagnose, repair, and test a wide range of electronic equipment. This includes working on PCBs, Drives, Inverters, PLCs, and more. With expert mentorship and real-world experience, you’ll develop essential skills in electronics repair and diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities:
- PCB Repair - Carry out component-level repairs on printed circuit boards using diagnostic tools
- Fault Diagnosis - Diagnose and troubleshoot issues on Drives, Servo Drives, and Inverters
- Testing - Use custom-built test rigs to validate and test repaired items to ensure quality
- PLC Programming - Assist in programming and troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- HMI Repair - Diagnose and repair faults in Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems
- Basic Engineering - Learn and apply essential engineering skills in a workshop environment
