***World Class International Dressage Yard*** Incredible opportunity for a level 2 apprentice to work for three international dressage riders, Gareth and Rebecca Hughes and their daughter on their small private home yard based in Warwickshire.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

We are looking for a groom who will be completing all associated jobs involved in the care and welfare of horses. This is a competition yard with high level horses, to include all general yard duties :

  • Mucking out/ keeping yard tidy
  • Turning in and out
  • Filling haynets/ water buckets
  • Making feeds
  • Grooming / picking out feet
  • Tacking up / untacking
  • Travelling to shows as a competition groom possible for right candidate
  • Some riding available for right candidate, although this will be an apprenticeship where you will not be assessed on your riding capability

Your training plan

All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)

Other requirements

This is a live in position, to look after 12 top quality horses alongside 2 other members of staff. ***Please only apply if you are happy and willing to live on-site.*** No livery is available for your own horse and no pets allowed. This is a non ridden pathway apprenticeship, although light riding is available for the right candidate.
