Summary

We offer Level 3 Accountancy Apprenticeships based at our offices in Liverpool City Centre. Successful applicants will be well supported to achieve their goals, both on the job and with Kaplan, also in Liverpool City Centre. This is an outstanding opportunity for those who wish to develop their career in accountancy with a fast growing business.

Wage

£18,500 a year

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Carrying out audit and accounts assignments for a wide range or clients
  • Checking or analysing clients' financial information, purchase and sales invoices
  • Completing bank reconciliations and liaising with clients when queries arise
  • Provide book-keeping services to clients
  • Completing routine associated accounts administration
  • Utilising audit and accounting software

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries.
  • Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes.
  • Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts.
  • Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
  • Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
  • Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
  • Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
  • Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
  • Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.

Your training plan

  • You will work initially towards achivement of AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting
  • Your studies will take place at Kaplan in Liverpool City Centre in accordance with their AAT timetables
  • On the job training will take place at our offices in Castle Street where you will have the opportunity to learn from our experienced team who will coach and mentor you 

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 6)
  • Maths (grade 6)

Desirable qualifications

A Level or equivalent in:

  • English (grade Level 2)
  • Maths (grade Level 2)

After this apprenticeship

  • Once completing Level 3 AAT you will progress to Level 4 AAT
  • Thereafter further opportunities to progress onto the Level 7 ACA / ACCA pathways are available
  • DSG will support your development throughout your journey and should you decide not to progress to Level 7, there are still alternative opportunities to progress within the existing structure
