Summary

We are recruiting for a Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship for a client based in Scunthorpe. The role offers a salary of £7.55 therefore offers the opportunity to earn whilst you learn. The wage will increase to NLW following the initial 12 months.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Unloading goods from delivery vehicles, checking the goods against delivery notes, checking for damage, and storing the goods in the appropriate area in the warehouse if fit for resale. If damaged making the Warehouse Supervisor aware before accepting the goods from the delivery driver.
  • Picking goods from the appropriate location in the warehouse in accordance with the picking note. Packing the goods for despatch and loading the goods on the courier or pallet companies’ vehicle. Acting as a second checker for items picked.
  • Carrying out stock checks on a rotation basis, ensuring that goods are issued in accordance with our stock rotation procedures.
  • Keeping the warehouse tidy and acting in a safe and responsible manner whilst carrying out the warehouse duties.
  • Adhering to best practice with regard to the use of warehouse equipment after training has been provided.

  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
  • Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
  • Carry out and record learning and development activities.
