Summary
A Level 3 AAT Apprenticeship role: The role will provide the opportunity for someone who has a genuine interest in accountancy to start their career. It will enable you to develop your accountancy and taxation knowledge and experience working within an accountancy practice.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
You will largely be working on bookkeeping, VAT and accounts preparation projects but will also assist in some of the day to day functions that are essential to keeping the office running smoothly, including general administrative tasks including:

The role will be varied and you will be provided 'on-the-job' training to support your AAT apprenticeship studies.

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries.
- Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes.
- Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts.
- Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
- Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
- Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
- Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
- Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
- Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.

Your training plan
Assistant Accountant - Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard (A level):
- This is to gain a Level 3 AAT qualification. This Apprenticeship role is split 80/20 between working and earning with the employer gaining valuable hands-on skills, and learning & gaining qualifications with Solveway Apprenticeships
- Training is classroom based at our training centre in Hitchin or attending remote learning sessions, one day a week. Further training details will be made available at a later date

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:

- Maths (grade 4-9)

After this apprenticeship
- After successfully achieving the AAT Level 3 qualification, the candidate can go on to complete the Level 4 AAT Apprenticeship training, with a view to further professional qualifications
- There is the opportunity to progress to a more senior level with the firm and a career in accountancy
