Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Apprentice to support our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their career in accounting and finance while gaining valuable hands-on experience.

Wage

£14,918.80 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Bookkeeping: Assist in the processing and entering of all incoming and outgoing invoices into the accounting software. 
  • Credit Control: Sending statements to customers and chasing debtors when required.
  • Petty cash management: Ensuring receipts reconcile, and complete monthly tracking.
  • Expenses claims: Processing & reconciling company credit card expenses.
  • Order processing: Liaising with the production team to raise and track customer and supplier orders through the MRP software. Liaising with freight agents to arrange the import and export of goods internationally. Assist in the management of the MRP system through the processing of production route cards and stock management. Supporting the finance team with producing monthly and quarterly financial reporting. 
  • Administrative Support: Providing general administrative support to the accounting department, such as filing, data entry, and scanning.

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Your training plan

This programme is delivered via a day release delivery model, which means that one day per week, your attendance is required at our Derby Road, Mansfield campus. This attendance is required during term time only.
