Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • To make GRP products (mainly slides for play ground equipment) from start to finish.
  • Mould preparation (New / Refurbish/ Minor prep).
  • Gel processing (brushing& Spraying) - Tint colour mixing.
  • Drilling, Trimming & Sanding using electric/battery/air operated hand tools.
  • Applying chemical-based coatings.
  • Polishing, assembling & packing.
  • Operation of various hand tools and cutting machines.
  • Interpret drawings to acquire correct sizes, cut-out requirements and orientations of products.
  • Follow work plans exactly.
  • Constantly look to improve quality of products.
