Summary

This apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and gain hands-on experience in the world of digital marketing and communications. You’ll support the communications and engagement manager in creating and delivering internal and external communication campaigns, improving brand awareness, and enhancing our digital presence.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Content Creation:

Help create engaging written, graphic and video content for internal and external communication campaigns across a wide range of channels, currently including LinkedIn, Facebook, email newsletters, Rural Housing Association websites and internal newsletters.

Social Media Management:

Assist in managing the organisation's social media accounts - LinkedIn and Facebook - including scheduling posts, monitoring engagement and exploring new channels to increase customer engagement.

Measurement and Evaluation:

Analyse and report on campaigns and communications performance metrics, to measure success and recommend improvements, using Google Analytics and other analytics tools.

Customer Feedback:

Create online surveys, review and feedback on results.

Brand Consistency:

Ensure all communications align with Midlands Rural Housing brand guidelines and tone of voice. Collaborate with other departments to ensure cohesive messaging across all communications.

Stay Updated:

Keep up to date with the latest and emerging digital marketing trends, tools and best practices.

What you'll learn

  • Develop or interpret briefs for external or internal stakeholders and measure delivery in-line with the specification and agreed timelines
  • Plan and coordinate a marketing activity using marketing tactics to acquire and retain one or more customer segments using available resources.
  • Contribute to the generation of innovative and creative approaches across video, images, and other formats, both online and offline, to support campaign development.
  • Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation to support the project.
  • Use copywriting techniques to write persuasive text/copy to meet a communications objective ensuring it is in-line with organisational brand guidelines.
  • Build and implement multi-channel campaigns across a variety of platforms, either offline or digital media.
  • Proofread marketing copy ensuring it is accurate, persuasive and is on brand.
  • Use software to design and create marketing assets to meet the technical specification.
  • Contribute to the research of external suppliers to support recommendations and procurement of marketing goods and services.
  • Organise offline and digital assets ensuring they are co-ordinated and legally compliant.
  • Use a website content management system to publish text, images, and video/animated content.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to support marketing activities such as project/budget planning and organisation of marketing assets.
  • Use technology and software packages to support day to day activities, e.g., stakeholder communications, development of briefs, data analysis, report writing, presentations and project management.
  • Identify and use data and technologies to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Monitor and amend campaigns to meet budget requirements including time and monetary costs.
  • Review campaigns regularly to ensure effectiveness, to optimise the results.

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews and analyses of multi-channel marketing activities, measuring success and providing actionable recommendations for enhancement.
  • Create and interpret insightful analytical dashboards utilising advanced digital tools, facilitating data-driven decision-making.
  • Strategically plan, execute, and manage comprehensive marketing campaigns across an array of digital and traditional media platforms.
  • Develop, understand, and apply marketing briefs and plans to ensure alignment with business objectives and brand consistency.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

5 GCSE's including English Language and Maths (grade (A*-C/9-4 or equivalent))
