Exciting opportunity to develop and expand your finance and accounting knowledge and skills with a Level 2 Apprenticeship! Working directly with the Finance Manager in our Plymouth City Centre office, you will help support our teaching teams with a range of financial administration that will really help kick-start your accountancy career.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
The job roles here at ATL is quite diverse, so you'll get a really useful range of experience. Full on-the-job training will be given, and you will be mentored by an experienced Manager, with additional support from the rest of our friendly Central Services team, whilst you learn how to:
- Raise and code sales and purchase invoices
- Analyse departmental budgets
- Maintain an accounting system (Sage)
- Manage debtors and creditors, including weekly payruns and credit control
- Process bank reconciliations
- Handle petty cash
- Process staff expenses and travel claims
- Manage student funding streams

Course contents
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

- We'll support you to develop your skills, knowledge and experience as you work towards your Level 2 Accountancy qualification
- Your weekly day-release for study will be at City College Plymouth
- Functional Skills in English if required
