A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Chef to work as part of our kitchen team at The Smokehouse Grill, Treflach. You will be responsible for assisting in the head and sous chef and day to day running of the kitchen.

  • Preparing
  • Cooking and presenting fresh food from an eclectic menu.
  • Assisting with deliveries
  • Replenishing and rotating stock 
  • General housekeeping and cleaning the kitchen

Further training and/or full time employment will be on the table for the right candidate based on performance during the Apprenticeship.

Things to consider

Due to the nature of the role, the Apprentice will be required to work a variety of shift patterns to include evening, weekends, and bank holidays.

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.30 per hour (From October 1st 2016 this will be increasing by 3% to £3.40 per hour). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
