Estio Training has an exciting new opportunity for an IT Support Analyst Apprentice with Marshalls based in Southowram, Halifax.

An opportunity has arisen to provide a helpful, friendly and enthusiastic first point of contact for all users of Marshalls’ computer systems and services. The First Line Support Team is committed to high quality customer service and technical support while acting as a single point of contact to resolve all computer, application, network and telecommunication related needs. It subscribes to a ‘Can Do/Help’ attitude where user’s problems become the Helpdesk’s problem and we either deal with or manage the problem on behalf of the users, exceeding their expectations whenever and where ever possible.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Logging and taking first line support calls.
  • Performing first line diagnosis and support.
  • Carrying out administrative duties eg. Daily Checks, Procurement of equipment etc.
  • Recording calls using the helpdesk software.
  • Escalating calls to other members of the IS department.
  • Monitoring and tracking progress of calls.
  • Dealing with issues and complaints – escalating where necessary.
  • Providing Customer Care e.g. Follow up calls etc.

  • Self-motivated, organised, excellent listening skills & superb communication skills
  • Excellent telephone manner, rapid learning capabilities with a flexible analytical approach
  • Must possess a positive attitude and be a team player
  • Good customer service skills and have a helpful demeanour
  • Able to use own judgement and initiative to take ownership of a problem and deal with appropriately
  • Able to record information accurately
  • Able to remain calm under pressure

Qualifications required

 

  • Minimum 5 GCSE’s Grade C+ (including Maths)
  • Computing related college qualification (if appropriate)
  • A-Levels (Computing, Maths, Business Studies - if appropriate)

Training provider

The Estio Training IT Apprenticeship programme gives people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive seven weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.

Training will lead to industry-recognised qualifications including:

  • Advanced apprenticeship for IT, Software, Web and Telecoms Professionals
  • Level 3 Diploma in Professional
  • Competence for IT and Telecoms Professionals
  • BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles

Although not mandatory, it is desirable that the successful applicant has an interest in computing, internet technologies, social media etc.

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.30 per hour (From October 1st 2016 this will be increasing by 3% to £3.40 per hour). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
