    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Estio Training has an exciting new opportunity for an IT Support Apprentice to help provide a professional full service from rebranding a company’s image to implementing a complete IT Infrastructure.

This company, based in the prestigious West Lancashire Investment Centre, are a fast paced IT Support company providing a full service ranging from Web Design and IT Support too hardware and software sales.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • 1st Line support via Telephone & Email
  • Managing IT support tasks
  • Supporting end users queries relating to software, hardware and telephony
  • Support remote workers
  • Hardware audits
  • Responding to system alerts
  • User access control
  • Collation of change requests

The role of the IT Apprentice is assist in the delivery of a great support service to the business.

You will be expected to monitor and maintain cases relating to all IT Services and provide end user support via telephone and email. High Importance is placed on ensuring the delivery of high quality services to and on behalf of the company along with performing regular monitoring and maintenance of all IT Services and solutions.

The IT Apprentice will also be expected collate and issue support cases to resolver teams and respond to cases prior to breaching service levels, you will also be expected to develop and grow professional knowledge and skills in line with apprenticeship scheme.

Training provider

The Estio Training IT Apprenticeship programme gives people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive eleven weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.30 per hour (From October 1st 2016 this will be increasing by 3% to £3.40 per hour). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
