JOB PURPOSE
To provide 1st line technical support the business users, working with Nviron to ensure that technical issues are resolved in a timely manner. To provide developer support for internal systems. To develop and maintain internal and external web-based software. Including but not limited to: company websites, company intranet.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide 1st line technical support the business users
  • Maintain communication with business users to manage expectations
  • Development and design of front end interfaces
  • Development and design of backend infrastructure
  • Responsible for resolving all development requests within set deadlines.
  • Responsible for providing bug-free solutions; first time deliverable.
  • Report workload and projects on a regular basis to the IT Team Leader
  • Assist other members of the IT team where necessary

As an Apprentice Technician within this company, you will be expected to:

  • Be interested in the IT environment away from the workplace, keep up to date with new technologies and read industry specific literature.
  • Answer Service Desk calls and respond to client queries online or via email.
  • Deal with technical problems accordingly and promptly, fixing issues where possible remotely.
  • Escalate any issues that require more senior input to the suitable person internally

  • Communicate with and support colleagues, customers, and suppliers in a professional manner. 
  • Demonstrate excellent English oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of standard applicable computing disciplines including change, configuration, problem, performance, and operational management.

Qualifications required

5 GCSE’s at grades A*- C or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

Training provider

The Estio Training IT Apprenticeship programme gives people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive eleven weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.30 per hour (From October 1st 2016 this will be increasing by 3% to £3.40 per hour). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
