A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a level 3 Apprentice Chef to work as part of our busy kitchen team at The Manor House of Whittington, You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing, cooking and presenting fresh vegetables and meats.
  • Preparing starters, deserts and helping with menus
  • Basic butchery
  • Stock rotation and unloading deliveries
  • Using a wood burning pizza oven
  • Using a Josper Oven.
  • Plating meals
  • General Housekeeping
  • Potwashing when needed

Qualifications required

Good understanding of numeracy and literacy.

GCSE qualifications at grade C or above in English and maths or the ability to work towards Level 1 Functional Skills.

Further training and/or full time employment will be on the table for the right candidate based on performance during the Apprenticeship.

Things to consider

Due to the nature of the role, the Apprentice will be required to work a variety of shift patterns to include evening, weekends, and bank holidays.

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.30 per hour (From October 1st 2016 this will be increasing by 3% to £3.40 per hour). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
