    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Estio Training has an exciting new opportunity for a Network Services Apprentice based in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

Established in 2009, this company provide bespoke telecommunications products and services to businesses across north and central England and are looking for an apprentice to help build individually tailored solutions for clients to help their business to maximise efficiency and reduce cost.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (All training will be provided) :
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers and contractors
  • Administrative duties; filing, keeping databases up to date, answering the phone etc
  • Provision of network services to new and existing clients
  • Dealing with the on-going needs of existing clients
  • Dealing with enquiries over the phone and by email
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as IP routing
  • Ability to troubleshoot efficiently and take decisions to drive issues to resolution

  • Communicate with and support colleagues, customers, and suppliers in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate excellent English oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of standard applicable computing disciplines including change, configuration, problem, performance, and operational management.

Training provider

The Estio Training IT Apprenticeship programme gives people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive twelve weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.30 per hour from the 1st October 2015. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
