Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
Long established award winning butchers are looking for food loving, enthusiastic, energetic people to join our team.
Must have a passion for food and making of food products. Good time keeping, polite manner and an interest in learning all manner of skills from basic butchery, curing, smoking, preparation of oven ready products and much more.
Requirements and prospects
Must be extremely motivated, hygienic and work well in a team, with a good interest in the butchery trade.
Must be keen to learn, hard working, determined and be able to self motivate.
No formal qualifications required but having a GCSE C+ (or equivalent) would be an advantage.
Intermediate Level Apprenticeship with the possibility of continuing on to the Advanced Level. This specialises in managerial and supervisory roles in meat training.
Things to consider
Working Week - your hours and days of work will be discussed with you at interview but you must be able to work weekends and early mornings.
This is physically demanding but rewarding work.

Locally sourced free range meats including Hereford, Sussex and Agnus beef aged and conditioned for up to 45 days on the bone in temperature controlled rooms.

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Meat and Poultry and Functional Skills will be achieved on the job.

The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.30 from the 1st October 2015. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
