We are looking for 2 apprentices to join our busy team at Cuerden Hall. We are a busy 36 bed residential nursing facility for adults with complex neurological conditions. Apprentices should be 18 years,no upper age limit (due to Health and Safety regs)

2 apprentices to work 30 hours a week to undertake apprenticeship at Cuerden Hall. Apprenticeship will last 12 -15 months and upon successful completion we would hopefully find the staff permanent positions at SueRyder as a health care support worker.

Duties will include:

  • Providing personal care for people
  • Helping with diet and nutrition
  • Supporting staff with social care and spiritual needs.
There will be some level of physical activity required using mechanical equipment to help residents move.

You will also be expected to comply with all Sue Ryder policies and procedures.

Passionate about caring – transferable skills. Basic maths and English or willingness to undertake these skills. General level of education.

We would look to finding the individual a permanent position at Sue Ryder – although this cannot be guaranteed. We support staff to progress to Senior support worker and assistant practitioner roles.

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.30 per hour from the 1st October 2015. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
