Wages explained
The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Connells head offices are home to several divisions assisting the Customer Service teams; we are looking for talented and ambitious individuals to pursue a career in customer service within each of the departments. Currently having 540 employees within the head office department you will be fully trained in the department you are successfully interviewed for.

  • Day to day duties will include answering incoming calls from Customers, Negotiators, Clients, Vendors, Lenders, Solicitors, Insurance Companies and so excellent telephone manner is essential and all calls must be noted and recorded and so attention to detail and written skills advantageous although full training on the process will be given.
  • You will be required to identify clients with additional sales opportunities and gain commitment.
  • You will be required to update the internal database with all relevant information; Including uploading and attaching documents with customer feedback etc.
  • Full training on this system will be given.
  • Filing documents in the correct place and on time to keep the department tidy and organised.
  • Other tasks will include, incoming and outgoing post, emailing and general administration tasks as instructed by Team Leader.

Training provider

Full Customer Service Apprenticeship incorporating:

  • NVQ where evidence will be gathered to build a portfolio showing your competency within the role
  • Functional Skills to include Maths, English and IT (depending on award and previous qualifications) where a tested part will be completed
  • Some NVQ units are knowledge-based in the form of a multiple choice test.

This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.
