Wages explained
The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

You will have a genuine interest in joining the estate agency sector and will understand that it is a fast paced environment where time management is of paramount importance. Excellent communication with both clients and colleagues is key; this involves telephone and email communication.
Duties include:

  • Filling and faxing documentation for staff members
  • Completing administration tasks for staff members within the office. 
  • Keeping the database and website up to date
  • Updating clients details
  • Sending reports, surveyor stationery
  • System updates moving on to calling customers for email addresses.
You will also be involved with client service administration which involves:
  • Updating the system
  • Chasing completions from our staff surveyors moving on to calling panel and staff surveyors
On a daily basis you will also be involved: in customer care which includes:
  • Sending post valuation query responses
  • System updates moving on to calling panel and staff surveyors for responses

Training provider

Full Business Administration Apprenticeship incorporating:

  • NVQ where evidence will be gathered to build a portfolio showing your competency within the role
  • Functional Skills to include Maths, English and IT (depending on award and previous qualifications) where a tested part will be completed
  • Some NVQ units are knowledge-based in the form of a multiple choice test.

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £3.30 per hour from 1st October 2015. This applies to 16 - 18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
