The apprentice will be:

  • Helping to keep the salon tidy
  • Assisting the team
  • Washing hair
  • Greeting clients and serving them refreshments, whilst working towards an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Hairdressing.

The successful candidate will be passionate, self-motivated, hard-working, a good communicator and committed to success.

The apprentice will work 39 hours per week over 7 days. Exact days and times will be discussed at interview.

Things to consider

We train our staff on a Tuesday evening which they have to get models for. You may be required to work Saturdays and one late night per week.

Training provider

The apprentice will attend college once a month, where all theory work will be taught. Practical training will be provided in the salon. The apprentice will work towards an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Hairdressing, which includes an NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing and Functional Skills qualifications in English and Mathematics.

The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £3.30 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.
