Estio Training has an exciting new vacancy for a Apprentice ICT Technician based in Elland, West Yorkshire.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working as a member of the ICT Support team providing a range of services including:

  • Front desk ICT Support reception
  • Customer service – face to face and making/taking telephone calls
  • Logging requests/problems from staff and students – tracking progress as requested


Admin duties:

  • Filing
  • General office duties
  • Processing orders
  • Booking computer rooms
  • Unpack parcels
  • Processing printer toner/cartridges requests
  • Accessing/adding to the asset database
  • Recover student lost user names/passwords
  • Security marking asset
  • Basic ICT Support duties


Creating security badges
Set up computers
Taking student/staff photos
Changing toners/drums
To manage hardware around the school including re-stocking, clearing paper jams and basic maintenance
As training and development progresses additional duties will include:

Installation of application software onto PC’s and managing / updating the virus checking process
Assisting with the management of the wireless mobile ICT facility including moving trollies to classrooms, distributing laptops, connections to the projector and screen assembly
Providing technical support and assisting with the setting up of school sound and lighting installations for assemblies and productions. Note: this may involve working at height using safe
access.
General
To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature, as may be determined by the postholder’s supervisor from time to time, in consultation with the postholder.

The postholder’s duties must at all times be carried out in compliance with the policies designed to protect employees or service users:

Take reasonable care of the health and safety of self, other persons and resources whilst at work.
Co-operate with management of the School as far as is necessary to enable the responsibilities placed upon the School under the Health and Safety at Work Act to be performed, e.g.. operate safe working practices.
It is the duty of the postholder not to act in a prejudicial or discriminatory manner towards service users or employees. The postholder should also counteract such practice or behaviour by challenging or reporting it

Training provider

The Estio Training IT Apprenticeship programme gives young people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive twelve weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.
