On entry, the perfect candidate would have excellent IT skills and some understanding of the concept of web-delivered applications. As this is an apprenticeship, training and support will be given as part of the program to develop these skills.

We are looking for young, enthusiastic and passionate individuals who want to carve their place in a fast growing industry. We want to help nurture your abilities whilst growing our thriving digital team. You must be an exceptional creative & logical thinker with a passion for all things considered geeky with the ability to communicate your ideas. You would be involved in a wide range of projects including: responsive web design, application development, online marketing campaigns & the occasional tech support.

  • Working with the rest of the digital team to create bespoke innovative solutions for our clients
  • Finding out about the project requirements from clients (taking a 'brief’)
  • Coming up with multiple concepts that fit the client's needs
  • Learn to present solutions to development related tasks or problems
  • Working alongside your team leader to develop a website or application from brief to launch
  • The gathering of analytical data and analysis to improve, and build better solutions for internal and external client projects. E.g. split testing, GA, Crazy Egg, Optimise.
  • Building of Email newsletters from scratch but primarily using Mail Chimp

Desirable Skills to have at the end of the apprenticeship:
  • Ability to build standards compliant HTML5 & CSS3 front end code.
  • Front End Technology skills (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript & jQuery)
  • Photoshop experience would be desirable
  • Be able to develop and work with common platforms such as Magento and Wordpress
  • Design software experience, knowledge of Adobe suite programmes (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • An understanding of PHP and MySQL would be an advantage
  • Self-taught and/or driven individual
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 & JS
  • Knowledge of WordPress
  • Knowledge of a server side technology (PHP, C# / ASP.NET, Python)
  • Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop
  • A passion for the industry and keen interest in web design & development from fronted to backend

Training provider

The Estio Training IT Apprenticeship programme gives young people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive eleven weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.

The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.30 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
