This vacancy is for a Business Administration Apprentice based in Accrington, Lancashire. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to undertake valuable work experience whilst gaining on the job qualifications.

An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Cummins Mellor Group for a Business Administration Apprentice to join our rapidly growing team. This is a full time role, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Initially based within our Personnel Checks department, a top 50 registered umbrella body for the DBS, the successful apprentice will be working alongside experienced Sales Advisors as well as training apprentices, providing administration support.

Following a successful probation period with Personnel Checks, the successful apprentice will be given the opportunity to work within the recruitment, marketing and finance departments of the business, gaining further knowledge and developing their skills while being supported in achieving their Business & Administration qualification.

  • The successful apprentice will have:
  • A sound knowledge of how an apprenticeship works and be either already enrolled with a training provider or have ensured they meet the eligibility criteria for an apprenticeship
  • Have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s at A – C including Maths and English
  • Understand the Company Core Values and be able to give examples of how they could demonstrate these Values in their role
  • Have a good standard of IT including the use of Microsoft Office
  • Have a professional telephone manner and good customer service skills
  • Be committed to self-development, enthusiastic for training opportunities and a strong desire to succeed and excel.
  • Tasks undertaken will include:
  • Answering incoming calls, helping customers in the best way possible and transferring calls / taking messages
  • Opening up the main office reception
  • Ensuring interview rooms are aired and tidy
  • Preparing for client meetings – ensuring coffees are made and meeting rooms set up
  • Communicating with DBS applicants, assisting them with queries
  • Assisting with the department administration/paper work
  • Deal with confidential information with accuracy and care
  • Posting and emailing relevant paper work to clients
  • Data input onto bespoke online systems
  • Franking the post every day

Provide support for managers and other staff members in the workplace. They perform a variety of tasks that require good communication and organisational skills. They often have industry or employer-specific responsibilities.

The company is growing and the role will develop as the candidate grows in experience, confidence and skills. We have 3 very busy departments, each offering opportunities to develop new skills. A number of our team started as modern apprentices and now run their departments.
