Estio Training has an exciting new opportunity for an Apprentice IT Support Technician; the position is based in Bradford.

Net View Systems is a specialist provider of integrated electronic security systems and the infrastructure associated with them. All clients have different requirements and we are in a position to design systems that meet their needs. We have many years’ experience both in traditional analogue systems and High Definition and IP systems transmitted over a LAN, WAN or wireless network. We aren’t tied to any specific manufacturers which allows us to choose the equipment that best suits the customer’s requirement.

Main Purpose of Role
The main purpose of this role is to provide first line support to the business via the phone and email, whilst offering excellent levels of customer service. The role will deal with customers across the business, resolving or escalating issues as required.

Key Tasks & Accountabilities:
  • Help desk - Logging, updating and resolving calls in the helpdesk system including prioritising and scheduling problems and where needed escalating problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician.
  • Installation - Installation and maintenance of computers, printers, peripherals and network related equipment across multiple sites.
  • Troubleshooting - Troubleshooting of software and hardware problems such as Video Conferencing, Laptops, Desktops and Printers in order to provide an uninterrupted service to all users.
  • IT Assets - Installing, configuring and decommissioning of all I.T Assets
  • Administration - Administering user accounts & mailboxes including the set up of all new starters, removal of all leavers and checking of any inactive accounts. The administration would also include the maintenance of the Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange.
  • Maintenance - Performing preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripherals.
  • VPN - VPN setup and support for all remote users using LAN/WAN TCP/IP
  • Mobile phones – Setup of mobile phones for new starters that require them and provision of ongoing support for users in the business.
  • Daily checks - Perform daily checks on business critical systems and reporting areas of concern to management.

  • Phone calls answered in a timely fashion and issue closed off
  • Customer service feedback from management
  • Successful completion of apprentice scheme

Qualifications required

5 GCSE’s at grades A*- C or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

Training provider

The Estio Training IT Apprenticeship programme gives people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive seven weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.
