Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Work a regular operational station such as café, reception, floor walking, parties, or kitchen to build core skills
  • Support the daily running of the venue, including rota planning and team supervision
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and handle guest enquiries professionally
  • Shadow and work with the management team to develop and test leadership skills
  • Assist in organising and delivering birthday parties and group bookings
  • Be part of a fun, energetic team and contribute fresh ideas to keep the venue exciting and up to date
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety, cleanliness, and food hygiene across all areas

Training schedule

Training will be delivered through a blend of on-the-job learning and structured support from HIT Training. Apprentices will attend regular face-to-face and online sessions with a dedicated HIT Vocational Trainer. Sessions typically take place every 4–6 weeks and are arranged around shift patterns to minimise disruption. All training is delivered in the workplace, with no requirement to travel to a college site. Additional support is available for English and maths if required.

Training is delivered by HIT Training Ltd, a nationally recognised specialist in hospitality apprenticeships. Apprentices benefit from structured learning that includes one-to-one sessions, online learning resources, and workplace observations. Training follows a modular structure and includes regular progress reviews with the HIT Vocational Trainer, employer, and apprentice to ensure development stays on track. Apprentices also receive a 12-month Affiliate Membership with the Institute of Hospitality.

GCSE in:

English & Maths (grade 4/C or above (or equivalent))
