Summary

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Apprentice Stores Person to join our team. The successful candidate must be good with numbers and must have great attention to detail. We offer a supportive working environment and opportunities for training and career development.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Responsibilities will include:

  • Stamping fasteners with both dot matrix and laser.
  • Washing fasteners to remove dirt / grease.
  • Assembling of fasteners when required.
  • Packing fasteners to a very high standard.
  • Putting stock away into the storage lift system.
  • Counting goods in and out so accuracy is key.
  • Updating the ERP system accurately.
  • Willingness to learn and undertake additional duties within your capabilities with sufficient training.

  • Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
  • Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
  • Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
  • Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
  • Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
  • Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
  • Carry out and record learning and development activities.

Your training plan

  • In addition to gaining practical experience in the role, you will also attain an NVQ Level 2 Supply Chain/Warehousing qualification which will help start your career and give you an insight into the businesses processes and procedures
  • Our training is all completed both remotely via teams, and face to face, with a development coach, who will be available for support
  • You receive 20% off the job training during this apprenticeship which is included in your weekly working hours

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

English and maths (grade 3)
