You will complete the level 2 accounts finance assistant (AAT) apprenticeship alongside this role.

    Salary will increase to national minimum wage after 12 months on programme.

    Monday - Friday, with 30 minute lunch. However the working pattern may vary. Shifts to be confirmed.

What you will do in your working day

Accounts payable:

  • Assist in processing large daily volumes of invoices in multi currencies
  • Adhere to a strict 3 Way Match policy for a large volume of invoices
  • Complete understanding of supplier Statement of Account reconciliations
  • Responsibility to enter accurate data and filed in accordance with internal and external audit rules
  • Support the Accounts Payable team and Accounts Payable Manager with day-to-day activities
  • Dealing with vendor queries via telephone and email & Teams
  • Complete understanding of the full accounts payable process from new vendor to payment
  • Good understanding of goods inwards procedures
  • Assistance and dealing with internal colleagues to resolve invoice queries
  • Processing of credit notes
  • Ensuring compliance of company payment terms policy

Credit Control:

  • Maximise cash flow and reduce bad debt
  • Ensure cash collection and aged debt reduction targets are met
  • Pro-active collection activity: phone calls/emails/statements/letters
  • Ensure queries are dealt with promptly and liaise with appropriate department to resolve issues
  • Arrange & manage regular credit control meetings with appropriate stakeholders
  • Recognise and escalate credit control issues with Line Manager as required Highlight & discuss any credit risks or concerns with Credit Manager
  • Ensure stop status of accounts is accurately maintained and communicated in line with credit procedures
  • Ensure customer’s orders on hold are dealt with promptly and released where appropriate in line with manufacturing deadlines
  • Allocate cash as required
  • Month End procedures as required

Finance Business Partner:

  • Support the business unit MD in achieving the group objectives
  • Timely delivery of all monthly management and financial reporting requirements Management of the monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting process
  • Support Shared Service Finance activities
  • Financial reporting & control
  • Ensure that all timetables for monthly accounting and reporting are strictly met
  • To adhere to the financial controls of ASSA ABLOY
  • Monitoring of major KPI’s such as material throughput time and days sales outstanding
  • Monitor performance of key growth projects
  • Shared Service Finance responsibility in areas including fixed asset control, balance sheet reconciliation process, reporting on key growth projects and other ad hoc projects

Business Planning:

  • Ensure that that all forecasts are accurate, reliable and delivered in line with agreed timetables
  • Ensure that all new business opportunities and investments are fully evaluated against agreed parameters
