What you will do in your working day

  • Heartwood Medical Practice is a well-established and respected GP practice in the centre of Swadlincote, based within the modern Swadlincote Health Centre
  • Receptionist/Administrator who will be supported through a Business Administrator qualification whilst also gaining a wide range of experience
  • This post provides an opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, hardworking, and reliable individual to join our reception team
  • The successful candidate will ideally have an interest in healthcare and have some experience of customer service

The training you will be getting

  • Business administrator Level 3 apprenticeship
  • Apprentices who have not achieved the equivalent of level 2 in
    maths and English, must achieve these prior to endpoint
  • Apprentices will be allocated a Trainer Assessor and training will be planned and delivered in conjunction with the employer to meet the individual needs of the apprentice
  • The apprentice will spend 20% of their working hours in off-the-job activities and training
  • On-the-job and off-the-job training will be delivered in the workplace

About the employer

Heartwood Medical Practice has a patient list of 11,000, supported by a team of almost 40 full and part time staff, including GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacist, Practice Nurses, Health and Wellbeing Coach, Health Care Assistants and Administration team. Our team is friendly and supportive and will help new members of staff settle into the role with lots of "on the job" training, as well as mandatory e-learning. Full training will be provided. This includes an induction into the role, how to use the IT and phone equipment and the procedures to follow.
