What you will do in your working day

We are passionate about improving reliability, efficiency, and performance of pharmacies with automation. As a valued member of the team, you will work collaboratively to achieve successful automation solutions, including the following:

  • To support customers with their robots including fault finding, diagnosis, rectification, and training, whilst documenting any action undertook. 
  • To support in smooth start up for new automation solutions whilst understanding documentation that goes alongside.
  • Interpreting simple engineering and technical documentation such as device manuals, schematics, fault reports etc.
  • Carry out and support annual maintenance on automation systems whilst finding possible faults.
  • Learn about the hardware and software which controls robots and configure changing capabilities.
  • Monitor stock level of robotic spares and tools.

  • Level 4 Automation and Controls Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard
  • Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Engineering             

Delivery Method

  • Apprentices attend Loughborough College one day per week, term time only.
  • On the job training provided by a team of experienced technical engineers. Also training provided to understand the pharmacy industry from a highly experienced pharmacist.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Successful completion of the apprenticeship could lead to a higher-level apprenticeship or full-time employment for the right candidate.
