What you will do in your working day

This opportunity is designed to equip apprentices with the skills necessary for the future of manufacturing and technology-driven production.

Job role:

  • Assemble products on time, working to aerospace specifications and internal processes using a wide range of manufacturing skills
  • Ensure work is delivered to the required quality standards
  • Operate machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Follow and apply health and safety processes on site
  • Ensure all work activities contribute positively to team performance and productivity
  • Learn multiple techniques to be able to produce or refurbish components and assemblies
  • Interpret drawings and plan work including accessing the right tools, equipment and resources to complete the task to the required specifications
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of a range of manufacturing and assembly skills including balancing, test, inspection and winding

Communication skills are a must; candidates must be adept at conveying information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Organisational skills are also crucial, as is a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality. The ability to operate independently, as well as collaboratively within a team, is highly valued. Flexibility and a proactive attitude towards learning from others are key traits that will aid in professional development and progression within the company.

The training you will be getting

Apprentices will be follow the Level 3 Engineering Fitter qualification with Milton Keynes college with on the job and classroom training assisting with your learning of multiple aspects of manufacturing practices.

Various training is available to meet company and functional objectives as well as to enhance the apprenticeship.

You'll be studying at the Innovation & Technology Centre, one day a week at Milton Keynes College.
