What you will do in your working day

As an Assistant Account Apprentice with Acorn Financial Solutions the right candidate will be responsible for several duties related to managing financial records and will be using cloud-based accounting software in Capium, Xero and Quickbooks.

Key responsibilities:

  • Processing payments, invoices, income, and receipts and entering data into accounting software or databases and scanning paper copies into cloud-based
  • Preparing financial statements
  • Reconciling the sales and purchase ledgers
  • Managing the bank and cash reconciliations, following up on queries for unidentifiable transactions monthly, quarterly, and annually
  • Processing Making Tax Digital VAT returns using cloud-based software
  • Administrative tasks for taking on new clients and maintaining current clients
  • Helping the Accountant and Accountant Assistant with ledger reconciliations
  • Alerting the Accountant and Accountant Assistant of any problems and queries to clear inaccuracies

This is an apprenticeship role and governed by the eligibility required. Candidates must be at least 16 years old, out of full-time education and has been a UK resident for the past 3 years.
