What you will do in your working day

The role will typically encompass the following tasks which are explained in detail:

  • Processing invoices – receiving supplier invoice, checking against PO (purchase order), delivery note and booking in report, signing it off for accounts to pay
  • Chasing credit notes – if price or negative stock discrepancy is noted from processing the invoice, informing the supplier, receiving the credit note, signing it off for accounts to pay
  • Receiving order confirmations – check supplier’s confirmation matches the PO we issued them
  • Updating ETAs (estimated time of arrivals) – update spreadsheet with changes from freight forwarder
  • Chasing overdue POs – chasing supplier for updated ETA if it has expired
  • Inbound stock report – on a weekly basis circulate a product list to reps, marketing, and sales to advise what’s due in
  • Shipping repairs – shipping products returned under warranty to Europe for repair using DHL International shipping system
  • DPD Ireland shipments – raising shipping information for deliveries to Republic of Ireland using commodity codes, weights, and other required customs information
  • OOS (out of stock) weekly report – ensure that ordered stock will supply back-order requirement, increase order if required
  • Booking collections from suppliers – contacting the supplier, working with them to have product collected and shipped to us
  • Warehouse product enquiry – dealing with any issues from Goods Inwards relating to the above processes
  • Product Road Map – process for bringing a new product in, distribution of information to sales

The training you will be getting

Business Administration Advanced level 3 qualification.

The apprenticeship will be completed at the work place.

All training for systems and processes at Feridax will be provided by the Purchasing Director and Purchaser. 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, combined with demonstrated good timekeeping, attendance, and attention to detail, you may be offered a permanent position with Feridax. You should consider your apprenticeship to be a training course and trial period for the Purchasing Administrator role.
