The apprentice will carry out on-site/off-site maintenance, inspections, repairs, installation, retrofits & modification of BRUSH’s range of Tapchanger and Transformer products. What you will do in your working day

  • 6 - 12 months of product specific site based training on all aspects of transformer design and manufacture. This will include all areas of the business from tender stage through to final test
  • Maintenance, repair, installation and retrofit of the companies range of Tapchanger and Transformer products, both on-site and in our Loughborough factory. Initial 12 months will be factory based
  • Disassemble, overhaul, fault find, repair, rebuild Tapchanger’s, transformers both on-site and in-works as required
  • Work to specifications and technical requirements
  • Undergo training as necessary, to ensure that current and future H&S requirements are met at all times
  • Work in accordance with on-site risk assessments on every assignment
  • Provide written reports on completion of each assignment

  • Level 4 Engineering EPNE Apprenticeship Standard
  • Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Engineering (pathway to be chosen)             

Delivery Method

  • Apprentices will attend Loughborough College one day a week, term time only.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Potential progression into roles such as Field Service Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, Site Test Technician and eventually into Senior Service Engineer or Service Manager.
