What you will do in your working day

Reporting to our HR Manager, you will be joining a fast growing, fast paced organisation of c600 employees, supporting our HR Advisors (4) with all administrative, foundation tasks and activities that span the whole of the employee lifecycle. As well as undertaking the role within our HR department, you will be studying towards 2 qualifications - Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship & CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice. This course starts in July 2024.

What will you be doing?

  • Administrative Support: Providing administrative assistance to the HR team supporting the transactional day-to-day and cyclical processes.
  • Onboarding and Offboarding: Supporting the onboarding process for new hires by preparing documentation ensuring a smooth transition into the organization. Additionally, assist in offboarding procedures for departing employees.
  • Employee absence - Assisting with the management of the Company Absence Line by picking up all employee calls on a daily basis, relaying information to the absent employee’s Line Manager, updating the People HR HRIS system accordingly, and monitoring, escalating and issues to the HR Advisor as appropriate.
  • Employee records and data management - Generating reports and MI data periodically to produce analytical data for the business and maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, employment contracts, and performance evaluations, while ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Employee engagement and wellbeing: Assisting the HR Advisors with Employee Engagement activities, our charity activities and our well-being programmes such as: Long Service Awards, Recognition Awards, supporting our mental health infrastructure and MH Advocates activities plus much more!
  • Wider support - Supporting our Director of People and HR Manager with any ad-hoc requests when necessary.

The training you will be getting

HR Support Level 3 (A level) Apprenticeship Standard

BPP apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry-experienced training team. Using their expert knowledge, we’ve purposefully built our programmes around the real-world use of modern technology, so that the skills we create can be directly applied in the workplace.

Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.

The successful apprentice may be eligible to apply for Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or any other professional body that recognises this apprenticeship within its membership criteria (membership is subject to the professional bodies own membership requirements).

It forms the foundation of a career within the profession, giving the base for further development through a career path within an organisation and/or through the HR Consultant/Partner apprenticeship. The apprentice can choose to stay within core HR or diversify into one of the specialist areas of HR.
