What you will do in your working day

Key responsibilities of the apprentice role will be:

  • Balancing Sheets - Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of balance sheets from our Card zone stores.
  • Verifying accuracy of financial data and resolving or escalating discrepancies.
  • Collaborate and communicate with team members and staff from other departments within the organisation to ensure smooth running of business and to resolve any queries or attain information.
  • Completing and processing additional financial data such as expenses.
  • Preparation and posting of journal entries ensuring accurate recording and coding of journal entries.
  • Assist in reconciling journal entries with supporting documentation.
  • Learn to compile sales data to assist in generating reports.
  • Support the department with day-to-day financial tasks and administration tasks.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

The training you will be getting

This is a full-time apprenticeship position with 1 day release to complete training at the EMA hub in the centre of Nottingham to complete a Level 3 AAT programme.

AAT Modules are as follows:

  • Introduction to Bookkeeping (Level 2 Unit)
  • Principles of Bookkeeping (Level 2 Unit)
  • Management Accounting Techniques
  • Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements
  • Business Awareness
  • Tax Processes for Business

You will receive structured training and mentorship from experienced professionals in the classroom and alongside your job role.

Things to consider

This role is based in Farnsfield and you will need to be able to commit to travel to your face to face training one day per week from the centre of Nottingham.
