What you will do in your working day

Our ideal candidate will be ambitious, hungry to develop their career and able to rise to the challenge of becoming part of our future advisory team, with a view to progressing to roles within paraplanning and eventually becoming advisers.

  • As an apprentice, you will be the first point of contact for our clients and a key member of the advisory support team
  • You will be responsible for making client appointments and calling them in advance to ensure they have all the information they need to attend the meeting
  • You will answer and log all incoming client calls onto our client management system, pass messages to the advisers and ensure all client contact data is accurate, up to date and complies with the General Data Protection Requirements, the Financial Conduct Authority regulations and St James’ Palace protocols
  • You will prepare new and existing client meeting packs, generate wealth account reports, investor returns, valuation documents, post review letters, general client correspondence and other essential information for the advisers
  • You will liaise with external providers and allied organisations, by letter, telephone, and email to chase information requests
  • You will process fund switches, rebalances and funding withdrawals in line with client instructions and will prepare business submission documents and client presentations in collaboration with the paraplanning team
  • You will also manage your own and/or the adviser’s mailbox to ensure messages are responded to, in a professional and timely manner

Financial Services Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship standard:

  • Fully and part funded learning and development programme that includes the CF1 Financial Services Regulation and Ethics
  • Develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours of successful Financial Services Administrators
  • Free CII membership for non-members through the CII Aspire Apprenticeship Programme
  • Includes the CII CF1 study book and exam entry
  • CII and EPA resit are to be covered by the employer
  • Fortnightly workshops for the CF1 exam from our CII approved trainer
  • All workshops recorded and available on-demand
  • Interactive chat, forums and class notebooks for real time support and assistance from experienced financial services professionals
  • Exam tips, tricks, and strategies
  • Additional resources through RM Advance
  • Regular tutorials and assessments from an experienced financial services professional
  • R01 is available as an alternative to CF1. Suitability for R01 will be determined by a Skills Assessment completed by Skills Edge

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Candidate will be supported in passing the relevant exams to enable them to become part of our advisory team.
