What you will do in your working day

The purpose of the role is to provide an effective and efficient financial service whilst undertaking accounting training. The successful candidate will be expected to provide the highest level of customer service and financial support.

Main duties include:

  • To assist in the everyday running of the finance office.
  • Keeping records updated and to become confident in using accounts software.
  • To provide financial support within the corporate team.
  • Receiving calls that are of financial relevance and ensuring that messages are passed on or dealt with.
  • Carrying out financial tasks from processing, posting and updating the accounts software, to making sure papers are correctly filed and up to date.

The training you will be getting

For the full apprenticeship, learners will complete:

  • Level 2 Accounting Apprenticeship Standard.
  • AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR).

For the End Point Assessment (EPA), apprentices will undertake a structured interview and an in- tray test.

Apprentices must attend college sessions once a week (term-time) at the Ipswich Road campus, located near Norwich city centre.

A position may be available for the right candidate following successful completion of the apprenticeship. The business is looking for somebody who wants to develop and gain a full-time position following their apprenticeship.

Things to consider

The role is office- based so candidates will be expected to be computer competent and willing to answer the phone. We do not allow mobile phone use within the office environment. You will be dealing with sensitive information and therefore confidentiality and discretion is of utmost importance. Free on-site parking is available as well as a birthday celebration and day off. The office is accessible by public transport. Applicants who are currently undertaking or sitting GCSEs should include their predicted grades on their application. If successful for this position, you will be offered a conditional place on the apprenticeship, subject to you meeting the entry requirements listed above.

We are a boutique business recovery and insolvency firm based in Norwich. One of the directors is a licensed Insolvency Practitioner and Chartered Accountant. We work in teams in order to manage a mixture of company and individual insolvency cases. We administer large and small cases over a period of time using specialised compliance software. We administer all sorts of cases referred by accountants, lawyers and the Insolvency Service from various locations throughout England and Scotland.
