What you will do in your working day
Duties will include:
- Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation
- Record all incidents, accidents and first aid treatment in the appropriate electronic format
- Assess the priority of incident, accident and first aid treatment reports and inform the Health and Safety Manager where further action is required i.e. an investigation, reporting to the college Executive team or enforcing authority.
- Assist in the investigation of incidents and accidents.
- Assist to compile and publish relevant data at regular intervals
(monthly/termly/annually). - Monitor, by inspection and audit, compliance with all Health and Safety requirements established by legislation or college authorised procedures.
- Organise and track maintenance of safety equipment
- Organise and track safety and insurance checks of equipment
- Manage and organise the safe disposal of any hazardous substances
- Track actions arising from Audits and Operational Activities and ensure completion by relevant owner
- Respond to requests for data, either internally or externally, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Create documentation to company standards and comply with the document control procedure
- Undertake and promote good practice for Health & Safety implementation.
