    Due to the nature of the business the kitchen operates Wednesday- Sunday. Sunday is a full day with the evening being off, as the restaurant doesn't open on Sunday evenings. With a split shift Wednesday to Saturday.

What you will do in your working day

  • Work with the Chef and other team members to prepare and plate food
  • Provide food for special dietary requirements as required, taking into account customer’s preferences
  • Assist with stock control when required
  • Assist with the delivery of stock and waste management
  • Work to the company’s policies and procedures, health and safety policy and food hygiene regulations
  • Work using your own initiative
  • Work as part of a team

The training you will be getting

At the end of the apprenticeship, you will be a qualified Commis Chef.  Training will take place with the employer and one day a week at Leicester College at the Freemen's Park Campus.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

The natural career progression following the successful completion of this apprenticeship is demi chef de partie and chef de partie. With more years of experience and training, they can become future sous, head or executive chefs.
