What you will do in your working day
We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Chef who is enthusiastic about hospitality and has some experience working in a kitchen. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and hard-working individual who wants to learn about all aspects of food production The successful candidate must be enthusiastic and ready to put their skills into practice. Your primary responsibility will be to provide a professional support to the catering team and working closely with the head chef.
You will be based at Chinnor rugby club which is a busy and friendly environment and is at the heart of a thriving community of rugby players and local people. You will be taught how to produce food at volume for players and supporters alike. The club also hosts weddings and other events which we cater for from breakfasts on the go to formal sit-down dinners. In addition, PG Events is an approved caterer at Downing Street and you will help with preparing high end catering for drinks receptions, lunches and dinners at No.10 and No.11. Guests will include high profile politicians and visiting dignitaries so security clearance will be required to work at Downing Street which we will arrange. Other events and functions which we cater for include:
- Barbecues at stately homes
- Private dining experiences
- Weddings
- Shoot catering
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Producing all food recipes to specification and recording any wastage/shrinkage in accordance with company guidelines.
- Work safely around the kitchen equipment
- Ensuring that all food is stored to the company’s standards
- Strictly adhering to all relevant food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
- Assist in keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic, and tidy at all times
- Carry out all reasonable duties as requested by management as and when required
- Undertaking any general cleaning requirements of the kitchen and restaurant
- Working as part of the kitchen and catering team and undertaking any other reasonable duties as and when required

- Level 2 Production Chef Apprenticeship Standard
- Functional skills in English and maths if required
- On the job training - delivery location and method to be confirmed
- Gain right skills and knowledge
