What you will do in your working day

Envirocare Grounds Maintenance Ltd is initially looking to recruit two Grounds Maintenance Apprentices to be based at the New Inn Farm, Leyland branch. Day to day tasks of strimming, mowing, pruning, spraying, hand weeding. Clear away grass clippings, dispose of leaves etc. Looking after equipment and cleaning. 

The training you will be getting

Training will be provided in the workplace through Myerscough College where you will work towards a Level 2 Horticulture or Landscape Operative Apprenticeship qualification.

Core Qualifications:

The following qualifications will be required prior to taking the end point assessments:

  • Emergency First Aid
  • Level 2 Principals of the Safe Handling and application or Pesticides Guidance

OR

  • Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Progression to operative, trainee team leader, team leader, senior supervisor, manager.

Things to consider

There is a bus stop directly outside New Inn Farm, Dawson Lane, Leyland, PR25 5DB and on the opposite side of the road. There is a train station located in Leyland and also on Buckshaw – 15/20 mins walk. You will be expected to work outdoors in all weather conditions. To ensure your application has the best chance of being considered for the vacancy you must provide information on all qualifications undertaken stating highest grades achieved in every subject, paying particular attention to maths and English. Along with this you need to state any previous work experience.
