What you will do in your working day
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with experienced professionals in the development and design of innovative products.
- Assist in the creation of technical drawings, prototypes, and product specifications.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide creative input in the product development process.
- Support the testing and evaluation of prototypes to ensure quality and functionality.
- Gain hands-on experience with industry-standard design software and equipment.
- Participate in workshops, training sessions, and educational programs to enhance technical skills.
The training you will be getting
For the full apprenticeship, candidates will complete:
- Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard- Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence) (601/7179/0)
- Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) (603/1353/5)
For the End Point Assessment (EPA) apprentices will undertake a viva interview (to check occupational competence), a portfolio of evidence and professional competence against the EngTech standard (usually in the form of a workplace project).
Apprentices must attend college sessions one day per week at the Ipswich Road campus, located near Norwich city centre.
