What you will do in your working day

Putting your ideas into our new menu. We have many events at our hotel such as weddings and parties so being able to adjust to several types of menu changes and different environment changes. Being part of our team means that you will be working very closely with everyone and getting everyone's input. If you ever get stuck on something you will be able to always have help from different people. We are offering an hour out of the working day to do any training that needs to be done online.  

An average week's task is doing the temperatures every day on the fridges, food temperatures and checking's dates of food. Doing the end-of-shift tasks which include tidying up your station and making sure everything is clean before you go home. Training will happen while you are working. The chef will you show how to do things and what you should do. There will also be an hour out of your working day where you can sit down and catch up with any work or training that needs to be done.  When it gets to 5 pm, there will be other training while it is busy during service to make sure you can get used to being busy and under pressure this will be a good thing for you in the future. When it is time to close the kitchen in that time you will be able you write up what you have done for the day and making sure all the prep is wrapped up properly.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

We want to help you progress to go onto the next level such as a Sous Chef and working towards being a head chef within the hotel.

Things to consider

We want you to consider that when we have events outside you could be working in the marquee and serving food you will be taught on how to speak to customers as many customers like to speak to the chef for compliments. Being able to work in different environments is one of the many different things you will be taught. If you cannot drive or are learning to, we are more than happy to pick you up from the surrounding villages around us. We are also offering to make sure you never do every weekend as we know it can be tough working every weekend. If you want the most support, you can get while learning and working join our team!

About the employer

We are a small family run hotel that wants to make our location a hot spot for weddings. We have 21 rooms in our hotel and 60 covers in our restaurant. We are on just eat and enjoy being busy.
