What you will do in your working day
• Complete tasks with dedication and professionalism.
• Receive, check and correctly store deliveries as well as checking
and reporting food items and stock levels
• Follow recipes consistently, ensuring uniformity in taste, quality,
and portion control.
• Maintain knowledge of product origin, seasonality, and availability.
• Record food loss due to spoilage or waste
• Communicate within the team to ensure the smooth running of the
unit
• Maintain professional relationships.
• Assist with monthly stock take of food and section stores.
• Care for assigned equipment, reporting any loss or damage.
• Familiarise yourself with and adhere to:
o Fire and evacuation procedure
o Kitchen security procedure
o Company Handbook Sections
o Health and safety policies.
• Report maintenance faults to the Executive Head Chef
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required.
• Interacts with the kitchen team and wider team including front of
house staff, suppliers and customers.
• Maintain high standards of personal, food and kitchen hygiene in
their section.
• Ensure all food safety compliance checks are completed.
The training you will be getting
Commis chef level 2 (GCSE) qualification.
Skills:
Develop essential culinary skills under the guidance of experienced chefs.
Experience: Work in a historic setting, preparing exquisite dishes for our visitors.
