What you will do in your working day

  • As a Business Admin Apprentice you’ll work as part of the Sales Hub Administration Team. This position is an exciting entry point into this team and you can expect the role to provide as follows:

  • Receive training and exposure to a broad range of administrative tasks that will enable the smooth and effective running of the business unit.  

  • Work with the Sales Team, gradually building your knowledge, skills and behaviours that will allow you to coordinate all administrative tasks for the department. 

  • Provide efficient and effective sales administrative support to the team

  • Provide administration support to the field sales team in their work to achieve external revenue growth.

  • Actively generate leads and opportunities by engaging in telephone and web campaigns interacting with both new prospects and existing accounts.  

  • Support marketing activities & improvement projects across the SMC group 

  • Be provided with and receive training on a wide range of processes and procedures, as well as software and systems.

  • Develop your skills in gathering information to support the Sales Team, coordinating, answering incoming phone calls, and dealing with general enquiries.  

The training you will be getting

  • The training will consist of external classroom training, as well as on-the-job training shadowing experienced team members.

  • By the end of your training programme, you’ll know how to confidently manage a database, process invoices, deal with telephone enquiries, and use an ERP system to maintain accurate records. 

  • Complete the programme and you will join our team as a fully qualified Administration team member. Here your training will continue, with close support from our early careers team.
